Steve Tobin
Founder, Executive Director / Terrex Seismic
Steve Tobin is a Perth businessman and seventh generation Western Australian. He was born in the wheatbelt town of Katanning and was educated at UWA and Curtin University with degrees in Geophysics, Finance and Economics.
Mr Tobin has pursued a career as a geophysicist in oil and gas exploration, which took him to Iran, China, SE Asia, NZ, USA and Canada with his company Terrex Seismic, He sold a majority interest in Terrex to private equity group Allegro in 2017 but continues as executive director.
Mr Tobin has also studied viticulture. With his partner Hayley Tobin, he established the Aravina Estate winery near Yallingup in 2010 after acquiring the Amberley Estate winery and vineyard from Constellation Wines, which retained the Amberley brand name.
