Since joining Bis in 2002, Steve Simpson has overseen a range of key financial roles across the company. A member of the executive leadership team since 2007, Mr Simpson was appointed chief financial officer in May 2015 having previously held the positions of divisional finance manager, group financial controller and a number of other senior finance positions. He worked for BHP Billiton for 14 years in a variety of senior financial management positions and across multiple commodities including steel, petroleum, iron ore and coal, before joining Bis. Instrumental in establishing the standalone business capability of Bis Industries following the company's exit from Brambles, Mr Simpson was also a key part of the the recent capital restructure negotiations. He led key company transactions including the divestment of the Cleanaway business and the acquisitions of the Gulf Group and Powertrans. His financial management was instrumental in the establishment of Bis' Indonesian operations.
