Simon Peters is a mining executive and qualified mining engineer with over 20 years of experience in both hard and soft rock exploration, mine development and operations.
He has 12 years of experience in management positions across 3 continents (Africa, Australia & Asia), in 3 main commodities (iron ore, gold and industrial minerals), covering all sections of the exploration & mining development process including large scale and complex feasibility studies, stakeholder engagement, permits and approvals.
Mr Peters is a partner of Sustainable Project Services which provides strategic & technical management consultancy advice to government, mining and agricultural sectors. He gained experience in production of industrial minerals, chemicals, iron ore and gold, and held senior operational and management positions within Rio Tinto and Henry Walker Eltin. He was a project executive for ASX-listed Astron and director of 3 subsidiaries, including a joint venture subsidiary involved in funding and commissioning an African mineral sands operation and gold exploration programs, and was managing director of gold exploration company E2 Metals.
Mr Peters holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining (Honours) from Federation University Australia, and an unrestricted WA quarry managers certificate.
