Silvana Gaglia OAM is one of the founders of Autism West, which was developed out of the parent run group FOCAS (Focus on Children on the Autism Spectrum) established in 2001. She is a passionate autism advocate, and was one of the winners in the Impact 25 awards in 2016.

In 2022, Mrs Gaglia was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the community, and to people with disability.
