Sheryl Carmody
Sheryl Carmody has been involved in the community sector of Perth for nearly 40 years, with a focus on people who are faced with serious levels of disadvantage. Her professional social work and senior management roles have included research, service delivery, management of innovative projects, workforce supervision and development, organisational and cultural development, partnerships and sector reform work. Over several decades, working for Ruah Community Services in various senior management roles and establishing its mental health division, Ms Carmody became one of the WA leaders in getting the recovery vision for mental health on the policy and practice agenda. She has contributed to a broad range of other reform activities, developing a range of innovative community models which included early intervention for young people and children, peer led and Aboriginal specific programs. Ms Carmody has completed postgraduate studies in theology.
