Ross Burney is chief executive of Hume Partners, a multi-family office investment house. Mr Burney was chief executive of the Peter Scanlon Family Office, responsible for a diverse range of investments including private equity, listed securities, credit and property. He represents the Scanlon family interests on the boards of public companies such as Qube Holdings and private vehicles such as Bennelong Real Estate, Taverners Group, Aware Water and Kaplan Equity. Mr Burney served as trustee of the Scanlon Foundation. He was director of The Maryborough Sugar Factory, Turners and Growers, Oncard International, Ruralco Holdings and Dawson International. Mr Burney worked for Guinness Peat Group, Brierley Investments and BDO Chartered Accountants, in Sydney and London. He has over 25 years’ experience as a chief executive, investment manager and accountant.
