Rod Leonard became the managing director of Lycopodium Minerals in November 2015 after stepping aside as managing director of Lycopodium Limited, a position he had held since January 2010. One of the founding partners of Lycopodium, and an executive director of Lycopodium Limited since listing in 2004, Mr Leonard has also served on various subsidiary boards. His management roles within Lycopodium Minerals included being technical director for the risk management group, managing director, general manager of operations, and manager of metallurgy. Mr Leonard has over 40 years of experience in the operation and project development of major projects in North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australia. He has also been involved in many aspects of the mineral processing industry from process development, feasibility studies, design assignments as well as commissioning of projects. A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a BSc and MSc in Metallurgical Engineering, Mr Leonard started his career in the US minerals industry before moving to Australia in the early 1990s.
