Paul Thomson

Paul Thomson is a chartered accountant with over two decades of experience in the finance and mining industries.

Prior to becoming the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Golden Star Resources in January 2020, he was the chief financial officer of Berkeley Energia and Aureus Mining, and had worked in business development at Kazakhmys and for Ernst & Young in the energy corporate finance team.

Mr Thomson is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (“ICAS”) and holds a Corporate Finance Advanced Diploma (“ICAEW”).
