Patrick Hardwick

Patrick Hardwick is passionate about enhancing services available for carers and families and advocating their rights and needs. He wants to see a cultural change where Mental Health Services and other providers take a more family-centred approach to treatment, discharge and support. Mr Hardwick is deputy chair of the Private Mental Health Consumer Carer Network (Australia). He is also a director of Mental Health Australia, president of Mental Health Carers Australia, president of HelpingMinds, and a member of the National Mental Health Consumer and Carer Forum. Mr Hardwick was chair of the Guide Development Committee for the ‘Practical Guide for Working with Carers of People with a Mental Illness’.
