
Nicole Duncan has over 20 years of experience in the mining, oil and gas sectors. She started as a lawyer and moved into commercial roles and the broader executive portfolios.
Her experience includes supporting minerals exploration, project development and execution, operations, sales and marketing, technology, governance, compliance, and human resources.
Ms Duncan will become managing director of NickelSearch in February 2022. She commenced with South32 in the role of chief legal officer in December 2014 and was appointed company secretary in January 2015. She left the company in July 2021. Ms Duncan was accountable for the company secretariat and legal function, including compliance. Prior to South32, she was BHP Billiton’s vice president of supply, group information management from 2011 to 2013 prior to being vice president, company secretariat. She also held various legal roles within BHP Billiton in Australia, Houston and The Hague, and she was a lawyer at Ashurst.
Ms Duncan graduated from the Australian National University with a degree in Law and an Honours degree in History.
