Dr Nicholas Cerneaz is the general manager of MyHealthTest, a Canberra-based medtech startup bringing convenient pathology services to the consumer with do-it-yourself (at home) sample collection and test results delivered online to both the consumer and their doctor. He has been building companies to commercialise academic research for more than two decades. After gaining a Doctorate in Mammography Technologies from Oxford University in the early 1990s, he has worked extensively guiding the development of a number of medical technology startup companies covering fields from radiology, oncology, ophthalmology and pathology. Other industrial experience includes automation and process optimisation in heavy manufacturing and process industries, astronomy instrumentation design and implementation, and advanced computer vision safety systems for the automotive industry. Dr Cerneaz was a director of AIM-listed companies, a director of the Australian Centre for Innovation and International Competitiveness (ACIIC), and a scientific advisory board member to Bionic Vision Australia.
