Nhlanhla Nene
Nhlanhla Nene was the former Minister of Finance of South Africa and Deputy Minister of Finance and chair of the Public Investment Corporation, the largest institutional investor in South Africa.
During his years in public office, Mr Nene represented South Africa at a number of multilateral institutions including the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Prior to that, he held senior positions in financial services at Metropolitan Life.
Mr Nene is chair of the supervisory board at Arise BV (a Dutch-based investment company with a focus on Africa), non-executive chair of Thebe Investment Corporation, and an Honorary Adjunct Professor and head at Wits Business School.
