Head of School for Design & Built Environment / Curtin University
Professor Nathaniel Belcher became head of School of Design and the Built Environment at Curtin University in 2020. Previously a Professor of Architecture at Pennsylvania State University in the US, Prof Belcher holds a postgraduate qualification in Architecture and has international experience as an artist and architect. His research and teaching specialties include Brazilian architecture and modernism, avant-garde practices in diverse cultures, as well as African American architecture, urbanism, artefacts and culture. Prof Belcher has completed field research and presented lectures internationally including throughout the US, Cuba, Brazil, Lisbon, London, Panama and France. His work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions.
