Murray Meaton AM established Economics Consulting Services in 1997. The company focuses on the mining, oil and gas, agriculture and water sectors. A particular expertise is in Economic Impact Studies and Native Title Compensation. Prior to establishing ECS, he spent over 9 years at the Department of Mines and Petroleum. Mr Meaton has over 25 years of experience in government, and is well placed to assist industries in government relations and community consultation processes. He is a director of the Australian Institute of Energy and chair of the WA Branch, and also sits on a number of Chamber of Mines and Energy committees. Mr Meaton was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia in 2014 for significant service to the energy and resources sector in Western Australia, particularly through the administration of mining royalties, and to the community of Melville.
