Dr Michael Farrell has been the chief executive of ResMed since 2013. He joined the company in 2000 and was president of the Americas region from 2011 to 2013, senior vice president of the global sleep apnea business unit from 2007 to 2011, and held various senior roles in marketing & business development.

Prior to ResMed, Dr Farrell worked in management consulting, biotechnology, chemicals and metals manufacturing at companies including Arthur D Little, Sanofi Genzyme, DowDuPont, and BHP.

He was the foundation director of biomedical engineering at the University of New South Wales, and is a visiting professor and chair of the UNSW Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
