Michelle Palethorpe has grown up playing several sports including representing WA in tennis and netball. She obtained a scholarship to play college tennis in the US and completed her Bachelor of Business degree at the Georgia College and State University in Georgia, USA. Ms Palethorpe was inducted into the Georgia College and State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015. She was a board member of Baseball Western Australia. Professionally, Ms Palethorpe is an executive counsel at Herbert Smith Freehills. She has expertise in corporate law, corporate governance, and advising boards on risk and strategy. She is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and chair of the not-for-profit sector committee at Herbert Smith Freehills. Ms Palethorpe has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Australia, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a member of the Director Pipeline Program.
