Michael Mistilis, a partner at Hotchkin Hanly Lawyers, assists with commercial transactions, dispute resolution and litigation in all areas of commercial law with a particular focus on building and construction (acting for developers and builders on large scale projects and disputes), property, environment, insolvency, finance, resources, Corporations Act including regulatory matters, contract, tenders and procurement, and strata titles. He represents clients in all of the Courts of Western Australia (including the Warden’s Court), the Supreme Court of Queensland, the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory, the Federal Court of Australia, and the State Administrative Tribunal of Western Australia. Mr Mistilis has also appeared as lead counsel in the Supreme Court of Appeal in Western Australia. He was admitted to the Supreme Courts of NSW and Western Australia in 2008, the High Court of Australia in 2010, and commenced his career with King & Wood Mallesons (when it was called Mallesons Stephen Jaques) where he practised in the areas of general commercial litigation and dispute resolution, insolvency, banking and finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions. Mr Mistilis holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours), a Bachelor of Arts (double major in English and Philosophy), a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Graduate Diploma in Education.
