Michael Best is a seasoned journalist with over 20 years of experience.
Mr Best was the director of news for 9News Perth from May 2019 to October 2022 before becoming head of media at Minderoo Foundation. He joined the 9News team in Brisbane before relocating to Britain as Nine's Europe Correspondent for two years (2017–2019). During his time in the UK, Mr Best covered a broad range of stories from the Royal Wedding to cricket's 'sandpaper-gate' to the London Bridge terrorist attack. He has also reported on various stories from Australia, Asia, Africa and North and South America, including natural disasters and Olympic Games.
Mr Best has won numerous awards for his work, including a Walkley Award for Investigative Journalism - one of Australia's highest honours in the profession.
