Mr Howes started serving at Anchorage Capital Group in Sydney in November 2011. Previously, he has had work in Aviron Capital. Prior to Aviron, he was the Co-founder and Managing Director at Shearwater Capital, where he had focus on situations and debt investments. Prior to Shearwater, he was a Partner and Managing Director in the Principal Investment Area at Goldman Sachs in Australia. He was also a Managing Director and European Head of Global Structured Products at Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong and London. He also worked at Macquarie Bank Limited from 1989 to 1998. He is Chair of People and Culture Committee.
