Dr Megan Clark AC has an extensive career in the private and public sectors, combining expertise in the metals and mining business with high-level experience in science, research and technology.
She was chief executive of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) from 2009-14. Prior to that, Dr Clark held various roles with Western Mining Corporation, was a director at N M Rothschild and Sons (Australia), and was vice president of technology and subsequently vice president of health, safety, environment, community and sustainability at BHP Billiton.
She holds a PhD in Economic Geology and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In 2014, Dr Clark was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for eminent services to scientific research and development through fostering innovation, to science administration through strategic leadership roles, and to the development of public policy for technological sciences.
