Matthew Knox is a competition and regulatory specialist as well as a renowned expert in competition, regulation, access and commercial law.
He has extensive experience in competition and consumer law, having advised a range of private and public clients on all aspects of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (CCA) including acting in respect of proceedings for contraventions of the CCA. Mr Knox has advised State regulators and private clients in respect of access arrangements for some of the largest railway, pipeline, port facility and other infrastructure projects in Australia including acting for clients in reviews by specialist tribunals. He has also advised a range of clients in relation to major projects including supply arrangements, off-take arrangements, gas supply agreements, power purchase agreements, joint venture agreements and procurement arrangements.
Mr Knox had acted for government agencies and private clients before the Federal Court, Australian Competition Tribunal, Electricity Review Board and the Wardens Court. He has also acted for private clients in respect of arbitrations of disputes under contracts. He is an adviser of choice to the State of Western Australian on its energy market reforms program.
