Matt Briggs is an exploration geologist with over 25 years of experience in Australia and internationally in various aspects of mine geology, exploration, project management and strategic leadership within the gold industry.

He started as an exploration geologist at Central Norseman Gold before becoming exploration manager at St Ives Gold, vice president and group head of strategic planning at Gold Fields, managing director of Prodigy Gold’s predecessor ABM Resources, and will become managing director and chief executive of Odyssey Gold in January 2022.

Mr Briggs has an Honours degree in Geology from the University of Queensland.
