Matt Baxby

Matt Baxby joined Bank of Queensland (BOQ) in May 2012 as group executive of retail banking before becoming chief financial officer from May 2018 to October 2019.

Prior to BOQ, he spent 10 years with the Virgin Group including 3 years as managing director of Virgin Money Australia where he guided the business through a major transformation to become a recognised player in the financial services sector. From 2003 to 2009, Mr Baxby was the commercial and strategy director of Virgin Money UK and investment director of Virgin Management.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business Accounting from the Queensland University of Technology and also holds a Masters of Applied Finance.
