Markus Botte
Markus Botte has a broad experience across the civil engineering spectrum, gained in local government and the private sector, locally and abroad.

Mr Botte became the manager of statutory road planning at Main Roads Western Australia in May 2020. Prior to that, he was at the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River, City of Gosnells, Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, and the City of Kalamunda. Mr Botte also worked on behavioural change initiatives, promoting sustainable transport modes, and researching travel behaviour on behalf of State Government.

Mr Botte graduated as a civil engineer at Dresden University of Technology in Germany with a Master of Science completed at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland. He has also completed his doctoral research degree in Transport Economics at the University of WA.

Mr Botte holds professional affiliations with the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA WA), fellow membership of the Australian Institute of Management, and has been actively representing local government interests at the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s urban development committee and the Corporate Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities.
