Mark Palermo’s practice includes commercial property law, liquor licensing, project and corporate finance. In Western Australia, Mr Palermo has assisted the ALH Group on the AU$86 million acquisition of 12 tavern businesses (freehold and business), Brookfield on the redevelopment of the Bishops See (office tower and hotel) site, and St Martins on leasing office space to its anchor office tenant, Calibre, at 50 St Georges Terrace in Perth. Mr Palermo also acts for Woolworths on the acquisition of liquor store assets in Western Australia and The Perth Diocesan Trustees in relation to joint venture contracting and the redevelopment of office and civic space. He also acts for various borrower clients on project and corporate finance matters including advising on bank facilities, the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) and the National Credit Code. Mr Palermo spent a year in Brisbane where he assisted with the drafting, preparation and management of leases for a new major Queensland shopping centre. He is the vice president of the University of Western Australia's Graduate Management Association and from 2010 to 2012, he was a member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) (UDIA) Outlook@UDIA committee. Since 2009, Mr Palermo has been the presenter of the commercial property section of the UDIA Professional Development Program. In September 2012, he was a finalist in the UDIA Young Development Professional Scholarship.
