Mark Newman

Mark Newman has been the Chief Executive Officer at the City of Mandurah since 2003. Mr Newman has overseen the work of the City to support population growth from 50,000 to 90,000 and a $1.6bn increase in the City’s Gross Regional Product (GRP) over this period. In 2020, the City was named winner of the National Awards for Excellence in Local Government for a series of highly-successful entrepreneur support programs aimed at stimulating local job creation and growing small business. Mr Newman and his team are responsible for developing the Transform Mandurah strategy which aims to guide the growth and diversity of Mandurah’s economy over the next 20 years. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has held board positions with the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre and Visit Mandurah. He is also a Board Member of the Mandurah Waste Alliance.
