Mark McConnell is admitted to legal practice in Western Australia and Scotland, having graduated from Edinburgh University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours). He completed a legal traineeship with Archibald, Campbell & Harley WS in Edinburgh where he later practised for two years as a corporate lawyer gaining a wealth of experience in corporate law, commercial law, banking and finance.
Mr McConnell joined Steinepreis Paganin in 2010 and was appointed a partner in July 2018. He has over 10 years of experience in corporate and commercial matters including in capital raisings (IPOs, backdoor listings and secondary capital raisings), mergers and acquisitions (both takeovers and schemes of arrangement) and de-mergers. His practice areas also include corporate reconstructions and recapitalisations of listed entities, project acquisitions and divestments, corporate governance and shareholder meetings.
Mr McConnell regularly assists with company secretarial functions and advises on matters relating to the ASX Listing Rules and the Corporations Act. He also has experience in the mining and resources sector including advising on the acquisition and disposal of mining and oil & gas projects, and negotiating joint venture and earn-in agreements.
