Marcelino Fernandez Verdes

Marcelino Fernández Verdes has been the chief executive of Leighton Holdings Limited (later known as CIMIC Group) since March 2014 and served as its managing director until his retirement in November 2020. Born in 1955, Mr Fernández Verdes has been a member of the executive board of HOCHTIEF Aktiengesellschaft in Essen since April 2012 and was initially in-charge of the HOCHTIEF Americas division as chief operating officer. In November 2012, he was appointed chair of the executive board (CEO) of the Group, responsible for all three divisions.

Mr Fernández Verdes studied construction engineering at the University of Barcelona and has held a variety of positions in the construction industry since 1984.
