Malcolm Paterson was the chief executive of PT Kasongan Bumi Kencana (KBK), part of the Pelsart Group. KBK has successfully developed and commissioned the Mirah Gold/Silver project in Central Kalimantan. The operating model put in place at the Mirah mine, from construction through operations, is a full "Owners Operator" approach and over the past 5 years, this has resulted in Mirah being one of the most cost efficient gold mines in the region. Mr Paterson has also developed and operated other projects in Indonesia, Australia and Africa. He is a metallurgist by training and through his involvement with Signet Engineering and Green Gold Technology, he is a leading expert in the resin-based process (RECYNTM) for recycling cyanide and detoxifying gold plant tailings.
