Lyell Strambi, chief executive of Melbourne Airport since September 2015, has over 40 years of experience in the aviation and transport infrastructure sectors in Australia and overseas. Prior to joining Australia Pacific Airports Corporation, he was the chief executive of Qantas Airways Domestic after commencing as the airline's group executive of operations. He also worked for eight years at Virgin Atlantic Airways based in London, including six years as chief operating officer, was the managing director of Australia Pacific Airports Corporation, and deputy chair of Visit Victoria.
