Luke Kerridge
Luke Kerridge is an award winning theatre director whose primary interests are new writing and theatre for young audiences. His Bambert's Book of Lost Stories (Barking Gecko Theatre Company) won a Helpmann Award for Best Presentation for Children and was nominated for Best New Australian Work in 2016. It has toured nationally (Arts Centre Melbourne/QPAC/STCWA/AWESOME Arts) and internationally (Edinburgh International Children’s Festival/Gulbenkian Theatre, UK). Mr Kerridge won a Green Room Award for his direction of Dream Home (Darebin Speakeasy 2015), with the production nominated for a further 6 Awards. He has an established practice as an arts educator and has worked as a teaching artist for companies including Malthouse, Sydney Theatre Company, atyp, Monkey Baa Theatre Company, The Victorian College of the Arts and Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre where he was an artistic associate. Mr Kerridge is the artistic associate at St Martins Youth Arts Centre and will become the new artistic director of Barking Gecko Theatre in 2019. He completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Directing at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2012, and was the recipient of Grace Marion Wilson Trust and the Jim Marks Postgraduate Scholarship.
