Luis da Silva is a natural resources business leader and executive with close to 30 years of experience in the mining industry. This include over 15 years as chief executive of listed mining companies, and significant involvement in the phosphate and fertiliser industries.
Mr da Silva commenced his extensive international career as a mining engineer in South Africa. He will become the chief executive and managing director of South Harz Potash in November 2022. Prior to that, Mr da Silva was the president and chief executive of Andean Precious Metals, GB Minerals, African-focused Mano River Resources and African Aura, as well as senior leadership roles at construction materials majors Lafarge and Blue Circle Industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering (Honours) from the Camborne School of Mines at the University of Exeter, and an MBA from Cranfield University.
