Laurie James

Laurie James AM started with Kott Gunning as an articled clerk in 1963 and has been a partner at Kott Gunning since 1967. Mr James is a senior in-house counsel and senior partner in the Local Government Practice Group. His clients include local governments and participants in the building and construction industry. He is a graded arbitrator and accredited mediator and conciliator with the Resolution Institute (LEADR/IAMA), and is also an accredited arbitrator and mediator with the Law Society of Western Australia and registered under the Construction Contracts Act 2004 as Adjudicator No 11. Mr James was twice the National President of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators Australia (IAMA) and twice WA Chapter Chairman. He is acknowledged in the Doyle’s Guide as a Leading Western Australian Construction Lawyer.
