Kris Starcevich has extensive background in the private and public sector in regional Western Australia. Born in Esperance where he completed his schooling, Mr Starcevich moved to Perth to study a Bachelor of Science at UWA, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Education. He began his career as a secondary teacher in Tom Price, WA before taking up an opportunity to diversify his skills in the mining industry. Mr Starcevich worked in occupational hygiene initially, before finding his true passion as a community relations practitioner for Rio Tinto where he worked and lived in several Pilbara communities. During that time, he completed a Graduate Certificate in Community Relations at the University of Queensland. Mr Starcevich has been working closely with local stakeholders and government agencies to drive social and economic outcomes for the Goldfields-Esperance region. He has a strong commitment to enhance the profile of the region through strong leadership and effective engagement with community, industry and government.
