Kris Carlberg is a third generation fisherman whose grandfather was the original director of Geraldton Fishermen's Co-Operative. Mr Carlberg holds degrees in Fisheries Science and Aquaculture, and completed an MBA in Marine Resource Management in 2010. He was employed by the Geraldton Fishermen's Co-Operative as the inaugural research officer based at the group's live lobster facility in Geraldton. He held the position for 2 years before deciding to join the family business. Mr Carlberg has been lobster fishing for 22 years and is also a member of the Abrolhos Islands Management Advisory Committee. In 2008, he was awarded a bursary by the WA Fishing Industry Council to attend the European Seafood Expo in Brussels, Belgium. Mr Carlberg is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
