After originally completing a trade as a filter and mechanic, Kent Stanton went on to take over from his father as a crayfisherman. He has over 30 years of experience in the industry and is still fishing. Mr Stanton has been a shareholder of Geraldton Fishermen's Co-Operative since 1987 and his business has been supplying crayfish to the co-operative since 1972. Mr Stanton has 12 years of experience as a director of GBSC, a building and construction company, and Roebourne Nominees which deals with transient accommodation in the northern part of WA.
