Kay Cox
Kay Cox AO is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia in the School of Medicine and Pharmacology, Royal Perth Hospital Unit and the School of Sport Science Exercise and Health. Her 25+ years career in research has involved studies on the health and lifestyle of older adults with a focus on increasing physical activity to reduce risk of heart disease and dementia. Ms Cox uses her experience and skills outside of the academic world in promoting physical activity and developing educational programs for sporting (predominantly swimming) community groups. She has served on state and national boards for these groups. In 2012, Ms Cox received an Order of Australia Medal for her work in this area.
