Kate Lewis grew up in Perth and completed both her degrees at University of WA and a Diploma in Company Secretarial Practice in Melbourne. Her career spanned over 30 years in music education and as an arts administrator in the performing arts and education sectors locally, nationally and overseas. She has held management positions at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Cala Records when based in London, the Australian National Academy of Music, and as chief executive of the Australian Music Examinations Board when based in Melbourne. For 8 years, Ms Lewis was corporate services manager for a large disability services provider in Perth and has continued in this work over for more than two years as a sector advisor and consultant. Ms Lewis has always maintained active interest and engagement with the performing arts and is the board secretary of Lost & Found Opera, a council member of the Friends of the Festival, and a member of the WASO Chorus.
