Jurien Van Rongen

Jurien van Rongen entered the marine industry in the late 1980s as one of the first apprentices at Austal and rose through the ranks to supervise some of their largest new build projects. He then ran his own businesses for many years before joining with Mark Stothard to establish Evolution Commercial in 2010. The two men were also founding shareholders of superyacht builder Echo Yachts in 2014. Jurien has been instrumental in the set-up and day-to-day running of Evolution Commercial and Echo Yachts, guiding innovation and productivity initiatives. In addition, Jurien has established Evolution Marine Coatings (which holds the Australian distributorship for the fire-rated and environmentally-friendly Enstone marine coatings systems) and has launched Evolution Defence to pursue work in the marine defence contracting sector utilising the group’s expertise and services.
