
As a member of the Clarity's consulting team, Julia Watts is involved in media relations, issues and crisis management, social media strategy and implementation. She works with clients across a range of industries including mining and oil & gas, property and government.
Ms Watts regularly participates in crisis simulation activities with clients within the oil and gas, mining, industrial, health and education sectors; and has extensive experience managing real-world crises across a range of sectors. She also conducts reviews of crisis communications plans to identify improvements to processes and systems, so organisations are in an optimal position to respond in the event of a crisis and delivers media training to executives in preparation for issues/crisis situations.
Ms Watts also works with clients in creating and implementing media and social media strategies to protect and enhance their corporate reputations. She has managed the social media strategy for a leading global mining company for over five years, working with employees all over the world to source and highlight content that enhances the company’s reputation and communicates its ESG priorities to a diverse audience in multiple nations across several continents.
Ms Watts has been involved in a number of significant projects spanning strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, including coordinating statewide media and social media campaigns for major public events.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Marketing from the University of WA, and is trained to crisis management standard ICS100 under the US Department of Homeland Security.
