Joseph Gersh AM is the executive chair of Gersh Investment Partners and a government appointed non-executive director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He is also a director of the Sydney Institute in an honorary capacity.
Mr Gersh was formerly inaugural chair of the Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation, foundation director of the Reserve Bank of Australia's Payments System Board, and director of the Federal Airports Corporation. He was also a senior partner and chair of the management committee of law firm Arnold Bloch Leibler. One of his principal areas of expertise is major property development and, in particular, the construction of hotels, shopping centres, land subdivisions, apartments and office towers.
In 2006, Mr Gersh was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant services to business, government, the arts and the community.
