John Tompson

John Tompson was the managing director of Hydrosearch, the first Australian company to join the RPS network in 2003. Throughout his career, he has held senior client- and consultant-side roles with public and private organisations, including seven years at Australia’s largest dedicated oil and gas company, Woodside Energy. Throughout his tenure as chief executive of RPS' Australia Asia Pacific business (2003 to early 2018), Mr Tompson grew its Australian operations significantly through the strategic acquisition of specialist project management, urban growth and infrastructure advisory practices. As chief executive of RPS' global energy business, he leads the network of more than 1000 energy professionals across the globe.
