John Neal

John Neal joined QBE in 2003 and was group chief executive from 2012 to 2017 before moving to London and assuming the role of chief executive of Lloyds in October 2018. At QBE, he was also chief executive of global underwriting operations as well as several leadership positions in QBE European operations including as chief underwriting officer. Mr Neal has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and was the chief executive of Ensign where he developed the company to become the UK’s leading commercial motor insurance brand. QBE acquired Ensign in 2003.
