John Murray

John Murray has over 20 years’ experience in private equity and venture capital, and was a co-founder and managing partner of Technology Venture Partners, one of the original and leading venture capital firms in Australia. Mr Murray is a past chair of the Australian Venture Capital Association. He has considerable experience as a director of high growth, technology-based companies, and possesses a broad understanding of global trends in technology and its impact on a variety of industries. He is currently chair of a private aged care business (IBIS Care Group) and non-executive director of Maestrano (cloud software technology).Mr Murray brings 12 years’ experience in executive roles in corporate banking (Bank America Vice President), accounting and IT services industries. He has been on the board of a number of successful technology rollouts and exits including online travel play Viator, which was acquired by TripAdvisor for approximately US$200 million in 2014. He is a chartered accountant with an Honours degree in Law, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
