
John Breeden retired in 2017 as compliance manager of south metropolitan at the Department of Fisheries where he worked for over 44 years, commencing as a fisheries inspector in 1973 as an intended two-year break from university. He also holds a Diploma of Seafood Industries (Fisheries Compliance). Mr Breeden is an honorary life member of the Jaycees Community Foundation where he was appointed since 1983. He is a 40-year member of Freemasonry, joining at the age of 26, and obtained his first Grand Rank in 2000 followed by appointments from each of the successive four Grand Masters, and is the elected treasurer of the Lodge of Unity.
