Associate Professor Johan Wesseloo is the new director of the Australian Centre for Geomechanics (ACG) at The University of Western Australia. He joined ACG in 2007 and has led the centre’s premier research project “Mine Seismicity and Rockburst Risk Management”. Dr Wesseloo is a mining geomechanics industry practitioner and collaborative researcher with extensive experience and knowledge across many geomechanics disciplines, having been involved in geotechnical engineering since 1998, in underground and open pit environments. Prior to joining ACG, he was a geotechnical engineer at SRK Consulting in Johannesburg.
