Jim Cuthill, the ASC shipbuilding director at BAE Systems Australia, was appointed interim chief executive of ASC Shipbuilding in December 2017. Prior to that, he held various roles within the company including as general manager of Air Warfare Destroyer Program where he was accountable for ASC’s deliverables as part of the AWD Program and ASC’s overall performance on the program. He also provided leadership and governance, drove operational efficiency gains and continuous improvement. Mr Cuthill was also the director of integrated supply chain for the AWD Program. Mr Cuthill has more than 20 years of experience in naval and commercial shipbuilding in Australia and the UK including program management, engineering, supply chain, production and quality. He has also worked in both the offshore and civil engineering sectors, including in the development and introduction of new and innovative technology. Prior to that, Mr Cuthill served in the British Army as a Royal Engineer Officer.
