Professor Jenny Gregory AM has published widely on aspects of Western Australian history, urban history, planning and heritage (6 books plus more than 60 articles and chapters). She recently edited Seeking Wisdom: a centenary history of The University of Western Australia (2013), was Editor-in-Chief of the Historical Encyclopedia of Western Australia (2009). Her most recent monograph, City of Light: a history of Perth since the fifties (2003) was acclaimed internationally. Ms Gregory has been chief investigator on four major national competitive research grants. She has taught units in Western Australian history and heritage and urban history at undergraduate and honours level, and won a UWA Excellence in Teaching Award. Ms Gregory also supervises postgraduate students, with 18 successful completions (15 PhDs) since 1999. She contributed to the development of the national Australian Curriculum: History, and led the development of associated professional development courses for teachers and the Masters in Curriculum Studies in History at UWA. Ms Gregory is also conducting research into lost heritage places and their digital representation, the impact of British town planning on twentieth century Australian cities and, as part of an ARC Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities, a history of water use in Perth.
