Jacqueline McGowan-Jones
Jacqueline McGowan-Jones has been the chief executive of Thirrili, an indigenous-led and controlled organisation delivering critical supports and services to families and communities following a loss to suicide or other fatal traumatic incident. In January 2022, she will become WA’s first Aboriginal woman to be appointed as Commissioner for Children and Young People. The office of Commissioner is an independent statutory office which reports directly to the WA Parliament, and is established under the Commissioner for Children and Young People Act 2006 to advocate for all Western Australia children and young people under the age of 18.

Ms McGowan-Jones holds an Executive Masters of Public Administration from Curtin University.
