Ignacio Salazar has over 30 years of experience in the natural resources industry and in the exploration, development, construction and operation of open pit and underground mines; development of local relations with communities & governments and international relations within the industry & the capital markets in London, Europe and North America; raising capital and mergers & acquisitions.
Mr Salazar has lived and worked in various countries in Europe and South America.
He has been the chief executive of Highfield Resources since July 2020. Prior to that, Mr Salazar spent 12 years as chief executive and chief financial officer of Orosur Mining, a Canadian gold mining company listed in the London and Toronto stock markets with operations in Colombia, Uruguay and Chile. He also had an 18-year international career in oil & gas exploration and production with Royal Dutch Shell, where he led new business development and finance teams in the UK, Germany, Denmark, Argentina, and The Hague.
